The PhinOi Modern Vietnamese Phin is a refined take on one of Vietnam’s most loved coffee rituals. Inspired by the traditional phin used daily in homes and coffee shops across Vietnam, it is redesigned for modern brewing while preserving the slow, thoughtful experience that makes phin coffee special.
Made from food-grade, BPA-free virgin polypropylene (PP – plastic #5), PhinOi is lightweight yet heat-stable. The material helps maintain brewing temperature more evenly than thin metal phins, supporting a smoother and more consistent extraction. A carefully designed angled base (164.8°) and optimised flow pattern guide water steadily through the coffee, reducing clogging and allowing natural sweetness and clarity to come through in every cup.
Key features

About The Phin
Brewing Guide
Note
This phin is designed to pair best with our essential Vietnamese coffees, especially G.O.T Fine Robusta and our classic Catimor selections. Their body, sweetness, and structure shine when brewed slowly through a phin, whether enjoyed black, over ice, or with condensed milk. Brew directly into your cup. Enjoy black for clarity, or add condensed milk for a traditional Vietnamese-style brew. Tip: For a cleaner, faster cup, a paper filter can be added to the phin. Brewing without a filter delivers a richer body and a more traditional profile.
